Children who have been exposed to domestic violence sometimes experience serious problems at school as a result. Abusive parents sometimes try to interfere with their children's safety at school, their education, and with the ability of custodial parents to support their children's education. The Massachusetts legal services' Domestic Violence and School Safety Workgroup has produced a series of articles and checklists for schools and parents to use. The articles explain how the laws protecting children work and the checklists offer practical ways that schools and parents can help children who have lived with Domestic Violence get the most out of their education.
