When you ask for an Administrative Review, you can question whether you actually owe the money that the DOR says you owe. You can question whether the DOR accurately figured your past-due support. You can ask for an Administrative Review before or after you receive notice of a levy on your bank account.
When you file a Bank Levy Response Form or Hardship Waiver Request, you are not questioning whether you actually owe the money that the DOR says you owe, the past-due child support that is claimed by the DOR. You are saying that the DOR should not levy on the money in your bank account because it is exempt (See the page about levying) or because you are suffering from a severe hardship (See the page about levying).
When you file for an Administrative Review, Bank Levy Response, or a Hardship Waiver Request, DOR employees will review your case and make a written decision.
Judicial review is not available to challenge a Hardship Waiver decision.
